    Well it would make sense to charge first line support costs to the planet partners, no idea if it's true or not.
    I do know that Kris is a lot faster in replying then any support case, so i prefer to post here :)

    this is something I've heard often, no proof. But like harmony says, it does make sense.

    It makes absolutely no sense to me, especially since my support cases go to Arkadia as I signed up there, and the fact that the ticket could be about anything in the universe, why charge simply for forwarding it to the PP, that takes no effort or cost.

    And if the issue is an MA related issue, then they would not even know which PP to charge. I simply do not believe it to be work that way. Some clarification would be nice and if it does not cost anything which I suspect then it will be beneficial to Cyrene to make as many tickets as possible with info and our holding out is only hurting them in that case.

    But I don't really know, I just have never heard this anywhere except from the players on this planet.

    i think it could be because they are sometimes having to spend time replying/investigating/forwarding to correct people on behalf of another company and there are companies that get paid to do this (ie the NHS has a company you fax and get paid to fax it to its final destination) . it may be a myth/chinese whispers or even true, and if its true it could cost only pennies.
    i would like team cyrene to confirm it its true of not, but i find posting here gets things sorted much quicker

    I don't know exactly what I am allowed to say on this topic, so I'll just say this:

    We here at Planet Cyrene prefer to have a more open communication about what's happening with the Planet via this forum over support cases to be able to get the information more quickly and resolve the issues faster.

    IN other words, hearing it here first person, they see it almost immediately and it's not third party he said / she said etc. If they need additional info, like screen shots, they can ask directly and not have to go thru MA's agonizingly slow process of customer service. If a planet partner was getting charged to look into issues on their end they would not be allowed to say so because first time someone gets pissed at a planet for anything, they flood the planet with stupid stuff to drown out the support team and childishly 'punish' them by costing them money via the support charge. It could very easily be exploited.

    Is there an extra charge you have to take from in game support cases though? Or is that a myth? Or are you not allowed to reveal that information?

    Currently people THINK that there is a charge, which is enough to cause the abuse detailed above by sluggo should someone feel like they want to.

    Either way, post it on the forum is what we should do it seems, but I would like to know.

    yeah i think forum is the best way to go, unless its something you don't want to make public like a bug that can be taken advantage of

    Well this has already gone public, people currently think it charges them. If it does then they will continue to 'abuse' it to hurt the wallet of the PP, if not, they will make pointless spam simply because they think it hurts them.

    Kind of lose lose at the moment, due to players even mentioning it in chat, ALL THE TIME. Like seriously I can't even mention support message in Cyrene chat without someone saying it costs money, those kind of rumors are not good and should be set to rest imo.

    agreed, but i meant abusable bugs. i filed one yesterday as advised. putting this on the forum could have caused many players to exploit it

    My guess here is that they are not charged for the support cases but any modification that the support case may entail.

    Im thinking that Planet partners are under agreement NOT to discuss inhouse 'things'. Which is why they said they really couldn't talk much about it, which is why us badgering them is not going to get anywhere. If you are so hard up to find out the dark secrets behind the curtain then put out the money and get your own planet :D

    We cannot discuss what costs and such other Planet Partners pay for, however what I can at least tell you is that they do not pay per case towards their planet but more than that I cannot disclose.
