Happy VU - Discussion Thread 14.2

    Greetings all ..

    While waiting for the VU notes to come when the servers go down ,first of all lets have a look at some of the things players have chatted with me about some of the issues on Cyrene at the moment and the result if change after the VU. Fortunately the issues are getting smaller after each of the latest 2 Version Updates. Lets have a look at the issues that the community has raised.

    * Flying mobs going UNREACHABLE when using ranged attacks.
    Tip : When you aggro a flying mob or any mob that is UNREACHABLE it turns around looking directly at the avatar, once the mob is flagged it will eventually come after you, it will turn off the UNREACHABLE flag when it attempts to either attack or you defend with your evade/dodge skills, stay stationary dont move backwards, likelyhood the UNREACHABLE flag will activate again.

    * Swamplurkers going invisible when they are flagged hostile (aggro)
    Tip : Hunt in 3rd person mode drag the health bar of the mob before aggroing it when it goes into invisible mode use the health bar you dragged and attack with the health bar using the left mouse button while walking backwards, shouldnt have a problem with that method.

    * Mobs tend to push you slightly making it hard to fap (this has been greatly improved in a previous VU but still is a slight problem)
    Tip : While killing, if you feel you have been pushed step back one step before you fap

    * Skyshatter Robots & Stalker Bots and the sound they make from when they appear on your radar screen, Hearing mobs being attacked by another avatar right to the edge of the radar (up to 200m away) from where you are engaging the target this can be very annoying and even a few avatars said it can give you a headache.

    * Getting stuck at revivals appearing underwater then surfacing and getting stuck when reviving
    Tip : Just jump once when you are stuck, or a few times if your caught at the revive with another avatar in the same revive spot as you.

    * Trouble targeting fast flying mobs or fast swimming fish. Seems that the animations disrupt your targeting when the birds flap there wings or the fish moving erratically.
    Tip : Use the same tip with the swamplurkers going invisble , it works try pulling the health bar before engaging under (sometimes over) the actual target, Once you have the target then its the same as invisible swamplurkers move backwards while attacking, important make sure that the target does not get trapped or will flag UNREACHABLE then repeat using the flying mob UNRECHABLE option.

    * Trouble targeting Duster Hunters when they glide making it diffucult to target.
    Tip : Use 3rd person and drag the health bar on your target use the left mouse button to engage shouldnt have much more of an issue.

    Next Part is developer UL weapon fixes, as everyone aware that there were too many UL drops and the majority of these ranked weapon drops came from Mature Mang Chang and no other Level 30+ mob (excluding the TEN drop) which was mentioned in the last VU preview, seems that it was out of the developers hands and was the fault of MA, hopefully this is fixed this up and coming VU and I wouldnt be suprised if those ranked UL weapons become extremely rare because of the over drops in the previous VU.

    Pre VU14.2 - Ranked HK1750 (With A106 Amplifier)
    Ammo Burn : 1605, Durability : Good, Damage Max 44-88 , Range 44.0

    Post VU14.2 - Ranked HK1750 (With A106 Amplifier)
    Ammo Burn : 1605, Durability : Good, Damage Max 44-88 , Range 66.0

    Anyway we will start discussing the VU Notes shortly when the servers go down and would like to hear from the rest of the Cyrene community your feedback from when VU14.2 is implemented.

    Nice, i have been killing TONS of lvl 30+ mobs to get a shot at some nice UL guns and it has been a waste :ยด(. Those damn mang changs were too hard for me to kill too.

    *Nearby Hunting Areas (including n00b swunting area)

    More mobs to hunt
    • New Creature Maturities
      • Many of Cyrenes local creatures have gained new maturities or have evolved stats
        • Living Vortex
        • Mang Chang
        • Rhino Beetle
        • Tide Claw
        • Sky Wraith
        • Sea Wraith
        • Duster
      • There are new Rare Spawns to hunt from some creature spawn areas.

      • In the coliseum in Janus you can spend 1 Imperium Key Cube to summon a special random creature that can drop many different types of items: blueprints, weapons, armor, attachments, and mining tools.

    if u aggro one thats already invisible use select next target.

    I'm hoping some of the Spear handling issues got solved as well with the slight nerf to at least the first models. Everything else looks great.

    these mobs are then adjusted my level? I'm still noob or I get as a L30 or higher?

    yeah is it going to spawn a mature rhino beatle type creature or something more reasonable. or does it run the full gambit?

    Also - is the "coliseum" made into a temporary restricted entry event area while the mob is killed, or will there be "issues" of whose mob it is, multiple payments of cubes at the same time possible etc? (I'm not saying the Cyrene population can't handle it, but am interested in seeing what the raw first implementation looks like i.e. forward planning)

    Other than that, on paper the vu looks promising....
    ("can drop: will drop" ratio should also be interesting)

    The Collesesuom mobs wont be rhino beetles they are mobs summoned using the imperium key cube, if you have done the first leg of the epic quest line you will understand, the collesesum (damn i dont know how to spell it) mob will be summoned from time and space, could be an ancient mob or a futuristic advanced mob, saying this these mobs will most likely have enormous hp and will be hard and major ped burning to kill. In essence I am expecting these mobs to be team killed not solo killed, unless your either star or stryker, it would be a waste for a collesseum full of people to witness the killing of a rhino beetle type mob lol. Each battle in the collesseum will be an event and as a random mob will require firepower and lots of it. Dont waste your key cubes unless you are prepared for what is to come. Those key cubes are not cheap to make. 150 imperium tokens per attempt.

    wasnt saying it would be a rhino just using that as an example should have used a different term. thanks for the thoughts that makes sense if slightly dissappointing but still going to check it out and see what happens :D

    I like the fact that you are reminding people of this again! Can you also maybe keep a list of what has been switched on somewhere easy to find please? (maybe cancelling out in a list the things which are still off?)
