I know I just made this account on this forum (I am active on pcf tho), but:

I have spent a lot of time on this planet. I bounce around a lot, but have spent more time here in the last 9 months than any other planet. I look through this thread a lot and see people with little experience here bashing it, and want to leave my 2 cents too.

As with any planet, time is needed to learn the nuances of the planet, the mobs, the loot system, etc. There is no point for people to come here and complain when they spent 2 days or even a week...it simply isn't long enough to make an informed opinion. This planet has lots of things to "figure out" and once you do, it is worth it.

Some of the great things are the missions, and the rewards, the spawn variations (so early in a planets release, is phenomenal) Getting to know the spawns and the loot distribution among the spawns is crucial. Timing is important. The loot is different than Caly, but in the long run I have the same results if I am smart...when I play stupid, I have the same bad results too.

One tip is to save all the Cyrene specific loot until a BP is released that uses it. Since the launch day, I have saved everything pretty much, used what I could with the BP's currently available, and sold some others and saved the rest. You will find lots of high demand stuff drops from the low mobs at very steady intervals.

Get all the missions! The Bp's and other rewards are awesome!

As time goes by, they have made the items in loots (particularly guns) drop both better and with more variation. For example, I could not find a L50 gun here to save my life for 6 months, but now I know where to find then, and a decent camp on those mobs yields me consistent guns that I seek.

Many of the faces you see here every day are very helpful. Just ask us when something puzzles you.

I think so far that the job they have done is excellent. They made the planet unique in a lot of ways in a short time, and I admire that. They are adding more and more, and fixing stuff, and making it better everyday. So stop your bitching, all you people that come out from your caly comfort-zone for a 2 day look-around. It takes time and brains to see what this planet offers, and it changes frequently. The good becomes bad, the bad becomes good, and only the people giving it a chance can understand it.

I have nothing to do with this planet. But this and RT are my 2 favorite. And the only reason they both became my favorite is because I spent a lot of time there and figured it out. Months. Many months of time, before I ever mouthed off it that planets forum.

Anyways, "Hi" forum! Look me up in-game, I am always happy to help. I will be here roughly 60-70% of my logged in time.

Hey Taco, I like your post. As a decent hunter I wouldn't stay here for days because I don't know mutch about this planet. My home planet was Caly for to many years, I would tt all the stuff I loot because I don't know where to sell or what to do with it? I'm at Cyrene for a week now and start all over, just like I did the the first time I entered the game years ago. Invest money in something you don't know and expect the best of it scares hunters away and makes them bitching.

So now I'm here on Cyrene with a plan "new and without using any peds" till I know what my options are here and what Cyrene haves to offer me. Wondering what a newcommer will do or how can he survive here without depositing.
What I see this far is that Cyrene isn't a sweatersfriendly planet and hard for newcomers if they are not is a sweatgroup. Maybe work for the Defs to change something there "advertise for sweatcamps on the arrival place.. and make this planet more sweat friendly so newcomers from other planets come to cyrene and "stay" here?

I won't sell my sweat but I haven't seen any buyers advertising or maybe I dont know yet if there are BP's where sweat is required.

I'm mostly at zik outskirts if people want to join me?

    cheers ;)

Thanks guys! Vic, I agree with what you say. Each new planet should have a primary sweat camp and be more instructive to new players regarding sweating, afaic. Dropping tokens or Beer kegs (RT) or Noob oil (caly) in a lonely pvp promotes SOME bit of a social environment for new players to meet and learn, but straight up sweating in a sweat camp, swunting etc is still the most important activity for new players to meet, learn, and establish long relationships that help people both stay in the game AND learn what to do to be as close to successful as you can be. It should be one of the primary concerns of ANY planet and much more thought needs to go into these, because I firmly believe that a busy and fun sweat camp is is a MAJOR factor in new player retention. It is definitely something devs should be more interested in providing. One positive though, is there are quite a nice amount of BP's on Cy that use sweat, (and actually on other planets too), that amount keeps growing and that's a good thing. I have 30-40k sweat on Cy right now that I bought along the way from people here, and I will usually always buy it from new players if I know it was hard earned sweat and not resold, just to make life easier for them, even if I don't need it...(and I will buy even more if someone tells me a spot to find force nexus on Cy :) ) And Jak, good to know, I try and craft anything I can on Cy, so I will add you to my list of people who might have something I need and am willing to pay well for :)

Edit: I do see a lot of activity in other threads regarding swunt groups, and am glad to see that, I don't know what the optimum mobs are for you guys yet, but whatever ends up best, it should be a priority for the devs to create a good spawn of those mob/mobs, near a revive and tp, and make sure there as many noob missions as possible with those mobs. Cyrene has a bunch of great low level irons already and has for a long time, which is another great thing (that other planets like Ark took way too long to implement), and was honestly one of the first things that impressed me here. Now they just need to make those darn swampies a bit thicker and slower, (more volkswagon, less ferrari) and get rid of their invisibility cloaks :)
