Low activity in HUB atm - Potential threat

Ed, thanks for your post. I appreciate every details of it and be extreme happy when Cyrene team has such level of responsibility. I do believe that Cyrene will fly high in the future and HUB will become one of the most anticipating e-sport.

 

MmmmMmmmmm well I kinda understood a relog was needed incase it wasn't even showing up in your inventory anymore. I put it back in when I needed it the next day. At AG I did one time have it back in my head after I had left that area. Perhaps it's a dynamic lol.

 

Well I have signed out in the hub. To look explore further exploring the next day ;p

Unreal Tournament...aaah that's a great game right there...think I just wet myself a bit...Mmmm...but it's all good...

 

Yeah! i guess! i would consider being a part of a Hub league! as no doubt my skills after playing unreal tournament in all its incarnation for over 10 years would come in handy!! anyway! a lot would need to change to get me even the least bit interested in the hub: and pull me away from the awesomeness that is UT!! maybe the cyrene developers can use UT as a benchmark! something to aim for? not that any game or otherwise would ever get close danm!! i even still play ut99!!! with friends and competitors online! eh! i guess im a little biast towards the hub! i can thank UT for that.

Hearing this tune gets the nostalgia going!! i think im going to explode with excitement!!

I would like to see the HUB weapons useable outside the HUB. I understand the reasoning to only have certain weapons available for use in there, but why can't they be used to hunt outside the HUB?
The only constructive criticism I currently have is night time is extremely dark, so dark that it negatively impacts game play (at least for me and the few friends i've talked with). Is this an intentional setting or will the light be turned up a bit?

Could be interesting to convert the hub from cryengine to UT engine

 

Hi! its not the engine that makes the game it what you put into it! yes! the unreal engine is great! but so is the cryengine! basically what it all comes down to is the work of the animators/programmers/modeling artists! using the engine to get the best out of it in combination with external programs like 3Ds max maya ect! the cryengine can easy do unreal tournament style combat! though if a developer changes the player animations to fit into a grand vision of a UT style pvp then that changes EU.. also every developer gets the same EU based SDK! and are confined with building assets around the preset animations and scripts! just look at the (bile jellyworm) uses and same animation and sound as the (daikiba) on Calypso i believe! and another good example is the player model vehicle seating animations! same for every vehicle so! its really a matter of a developer convincing mindark that the said changes are beneficial to the entire concept! as EU is now i dont see the HUB getting anywhere near the highs of Unreal Tournament...any time soon..

 

Back on the subject of low activity in the Hub - I returned there recently and there had been no registered fights at all in the lowest room. I entered anyway - and did indeed see noone at all in my time inside. I even had to 't' out (and didn't get a refund, by the way).
I don't know how the 1 on 1 plans on working either if a good player just stays in there waiting for bait. You couldn't even get to to fight a friend that way until it was so unpopular to try it that even the spider was forced out of his hub. You'd also be paying 2 entry fees for one winner if noone else is waiting to challenge the winner (without refund for 't' that is).

Anyway, I got a good look around (although the teleporting is now one-way I read, so I don't know where is to where). I've given it some thought and I expect groups will just form to protect each other and live off people 'trying it out', which they won't do for long per player....
Maybe groups will try to take over an area (or the whole battleground), like at the rig on a far-off planet, but it won't be worth it without fresh meat, and I think it will be constantly drying up, tbh.

Maybe it does need a labyrinth of success approach, as in another post of mine.. there is still time to change things..... maybe.. good luck!

I have another quick question - Hub tokens can now be exchanged outside the hub, but in a quick visit to Janus I could only get the armour bots and info bot to activate, not the weapons one, I forget its N.A.M.E. Is that a mistake/bug?
