Anything intresting for solo players?

I realise the new era of EU will be focusing on teamwork and societies etc.

However, I'm intrested in playing solo. Will there be anything intresting for solo players?

 

Sure i'm in soc but i always play in solo when hunt... I prefer

 

Isn't there a word for that?

 

It's Massive Multiplayer, a significant progress in the team/group gameplay would be very much appreciated.

Questions is, George, what would you like to see improved/added for solo playing?

Crafting Hardened Pipes?

That's good and it's been a long time in coming.

With this game being an RCE it does make it more complicated. Especially since there is no adequate team loot share facility in regard to items. The game therefore indirectly promotes scamming. Which is likely to increase in the future with these new team gameplay features.

Mobs with shared loot is good in my opinion. Such teamplay I consider as solo because a player does not need to be in a team in order to take part and the sytem takes care of loot division i.e. we as players don't need to interfere in this loot division.

So such type of solo teamplay would be good.

Another option would be to allow true solo players to do some instance missions. The difficulty of the instance could be scaled according to how many players will be taking part in such an instance.

Hi George. Although a lot of things seem to require team play in EU - Cyrene will also offer a lot of solo game features One interesting thing in this regard worth mentioning is unique boss fights

How about Mob herding, that's a solo event..........if you have noobie mobs

Which brings up a question for Ed. Will all the cities have turrets?

 

By default; if there is a teleporter, there will be a turret So newbies are 'safe'

 

Well maybe I can hope the turrets are positioned incorrectly Besides, safe isn't always fun

 

I like george's suggestion of instances where they are relative to the amount of players that are participating in them. I also am predominately interested in solo playing. I like to help newer players and things like that but when it comes to hunting and things of that nature, its can be complicated doing things in teams.

Take a new calypso beacon mission for example, if i go in with a team, I may do the largest portion of dmg and bare most of the cost of killing things but may end up with the short stick on the loot while another person who did half as much loots some uber item. Then there is a matter of how loot will be shared, split, ect. Same situation in team hunts. So for some of us solo is preffered.

 

I very very rarely team hunt, im solo all the exactly for the loot reason and balancing of your avatar incase you get a team ATH and the loot doesnt fall in your favour, but according to MA it has actually was a balance of loot for you. But you may never get a loot like that again.

 

I'm intrested in where you got that from? Was it a support case or something? if so could you quote it?

 

basically you have a choose of being sure the setting of the group are to your preference.

if you join a group with setting that let you be riped off then that was your mistake

or only join groups you can trust
in my guild i can trust most anyone
i was in a team hunt a few days ago, i never see the loot window because i drag it off under the chat box, and i leave the team chat off
i still get aproached at the end of the hunt with my share of item looted ped

it's all about who you play with

where you lay your trust will determine the rest of your day

trust is only one factor.

There are many others for axample since we don't know how the system really distributes loot and often we impose our own rules about loot distribution e.g. share items. Our own rules may in fact be unequal depending on how the system works.

Assuming the system deals out TT value fairly then our rules imposed on top will disrupt equality and make it unfair.

 

i am of 2 thoughts on hunting alone .... 1 it can be nice very peaceful and you can change what you hunt how long you hunt without discussing it with a group. 2 with a group you have a better chance to bring down the bigger mobs with less ammo quicker and chance at hofs goes up which is fun as yer in a social setting had many laughs with good friends hunting in groups ... i am 100% sure there will be something awesome for both ways ....
