Ok, now EU is a game open to everyone, so no one should be saying to anyone they should or shouldn't sell something they have for whatever amount they want to sell something. I would like to hear what the owners of Cyrene have to say about people going around and getting mad at players that are selling items, loots, whatever on the auction for reasonable prices. All that has been happening so far with how players are treating people is that people leave and don't want to spend any time on Cyrene. The grand opening is coming soon, what is everyone going to do at that point? Completely over charge people for items they can get on other planets for half the cost? And then people wonder why everyone has to take items to Calypso to sell, even over to Arkadia. If you want to see more pages in the auction and more items needed to play in the game I suggest dropped the greed and starting to get a grip.

P.S. I was hoping to be able to post something nice because the other posts have been about things that aren't nice, but it seems those days aren't over and I fear they never will be.

I don't listen to others who tell me what the market price should be on any given item. If I think that a my MM should sell at TT+ 10000 ped, then that's what I'm going to sell it for. :) This is a free market the last time I checked, so tell the others who are getting mad at ya, to fly a kite! :)

lol, to not let others dictate their pricing :p

We're going to see a lot more people soon. Recruiting over to Cyrene has started a bit more now, just have to keep them here and not make them want to leave.

And as Menace stated in another post, which I forget the name of the post, keep the items here on Cyrene in stead of having them heading over to Calypso to be sold. I have run over to Calypso myself a couple times to get some Cyrene items and bring them back to use.

lol the prices are driving people away as much as the lack of needed items (mining and hunting) are. I have struggled with weapons for hunting for example and usually maxed guns die after 450 ped so looking at the AH there isn't much there.

Although yesterday there was one gun that I could use (1ped gun) .. price in calypso and ark 20-30 ped 3000% and some guy here was selling for 101ped start bid..... that is not ideal for a newish ecconomy. So yeah, I contacted the seller to ask if he would reconsider his price and that I would buy it... he didn't like that.

Maybe we shouldn't dictate peoples prices but people shouldn't expect an economy to grow with stupid prices. Until there is a steady flow of weapons and items to add to the AH and at reasonable prices then people will continue to leave.

Also, I think the loot pool on Cyrene died up Saturday evening.. been nothing but heavy losses since :)

PS. I also had a guy just contact me to sell something a ped less than I was asking and I kindly agreed. No skin off my nose.

Yep, not much being in the AH here is part of the point about keeping Cyrene items on Cyrene and/or importing items without jacking the price up to the moon.
And yes I saw the same weapon that's with an insane markup, I would have bought it if it was the markup they sell for on Calypso. In that case running the auction is going to cost more than what the item is worth even if someone was to pay that insane markup, but no one will, so that one is just going to float and float.
Seems like the "loot pool" dried up for some when it was up for others. All last week was terrible for me while it was good for others, but that's just EU and goes along with the theory that loot is individual to the player. The loot pool is a theory, there's nothing to show that there is a loot pool and MA states there is no such thing. Most of the loots, claims and crafting are individual to the avatar, not a group type thing. I also feel that loots, claims and crafting runs are directly related to money, such as a deposit being made.
When I was mentioning prices being dictated it was more to do with jacking prices up and not keeping them reasonable to keep players wanting to stay on Cyrene and not having to go to the other planets to get what they need. From what I know of the auctions the revenue from the auctions are planet oriented, so by making people take items to other planets to sell the planet owners suffer by not making the profit from the auction fee and that's not good for them either.

Alric I think I miss-understood the point about price dictation but that said, you did agree with Nor when he posted about selling stuff at what ever price he wanted, insinuating that inflated prices are acceptable.

I do agree though that people grinding items to sell elsewhere is bad for us all, not the planet owners. What they don't realise is that stuff does sell, just not as fast as on Caly.

Back to point of auction prices....

Basic Targeting units, those are a joke at 10-12ped each. I have clothing that I could make for reasonable prices for all especially the newer player or those on tight budgets but Cyrene blueprints for shirts as one example have these as a material.

They need to drop a hell a lot more imo because 15ped to craft a 2 ped item is not good. If Basic Targeting units and weapons dropped a bit more.. the economy would surely pick up no ?

Can I just add another set of items that need to drop a little bit more.. For example.. instead of 50-80ped drops of wool or muscle oil, why not allow HK laser rifles drop more ? The HK 1300 and HK 2300 rifles are native ? and currently very rare. Does the planet devs have any control over drop rates of items ? it needs looking at.

The agreeing with non was not so much the inflation of the price it was of the not letting anyone tell you what price to sell something. That's why I put what I put in the first little statement of not letting others dictate your pricing. Anyone that has played EU for awhile knows that items and loots are going to sell for what they are going to sell for, nothing is going to change that and non has been around for awhile so I took what he wrote as more of a joke that anything.
The items selling somewhere else does effect all of us and the planet owners as well. The investors in EU get 30% off the top of everything, otherwise they wouldn't invest, but there are also other "perks" that would have to do more with the planet itself. EU is a money making venture for anyone that invests serious money into Mindark/EU.
And yes as far as the drop rate of things go, things need to change, but that's a thing that occurs over time, adjustments have to be made. I am sure we will see more of that occurring as time goes on. Cyrene is still in soft launch, which is another word for beta, so a lot more will happen.
There is a post/thread that people post about the drop rates, needed resources, etc. If you get a chance you can post to that thread and let them know. I am sure during the time of reading the thread you will see that you are far from the only one that feels that way about the materials needed for crafting.
Cyrene has come a long way from when it first opened. I waited 3 years for Cyrene to open, I even have the special edition magazine and desktop calendar of concept art that was offered a few years ago, hehe. And I am very happy to see the changes that have already occurred, not to mention things to come.
I know that there's a lot that needs to change, but a lot of good things have happened over the last year of Cyrene being open and the development team and the planet manager are very good at responding to the requests of the players.
When you get the chance, take a look at the forum thread. You'll see a lot of what you are saying there and also that the management (for lack of a better way of putting it) has been doing a lot to make Cyrene be a home for everyone.

Hmm I read the op as people were telling people to raise prices rather then sell them at a lower or closer to MU. Not agreeing with the raised price aspect, as my example of selling my MM (mod merc) at TT+ 10000. ;) having said that, people will dictate the market value, by either buying at the prices set or not buying it. Eventually supply and demand settles the value in the end. :D

well,, they aren't buy the chips really, not for clothing anyway, the weapons are still up some in markup. I have made some of the clothing that uses the basic targeting chips and I made them for myself, not to list. Also I looted the chips I have used, but I did buy a couple here and there from new players to help them out a little.

I see that despite our planets ecconomy being small we have players that I have never seen at all, no globals no activity.. nothing, piling on thousands of units of certain items at auction in order to crash the prices of low mu stuff.

I'm even struggling to sell oils at 102% because a trader has filled the action as said above. Multiple 3k stacks of oils at 101%.

So you are saying that it is hard to sell oils on Cyrene and at the same time traders import the same goods from other planets to sell here ? Doesn't make sense, does it ?
