Hi first let me say that Cyrene has been one of my favorite planets so far. Love the feel and atmosphere. Second, I haven't read through the entire thread so if this has been said already, my apologies.

I have been checking around and also have experierenced this my self, as there seems to be a slight problem with proformace issues on Cyrene. I have recently upgraded my vid card to a AMD 7970 3 gig monster that gets me 50 to 120 fps on every planet except Cyrene. Here I get about 15 fps or so to 25 max, no matter where I am. I'm not sure why this is but I'm hoping that you can have a look at it to see if there may be an issue.

Also note that I haven't been back since the Ava update so I'm not sure if this has improved since then, if so.. WOOT!!

Again thank you for all your hard work and dedication to making Cyrene an awesome place! :D

    I'm afraid not yet :(

There are other things that we need to solidify before we can announce anything about hard launch - mainly the blueprint discoveries, loot drops, and mining areas improved.

We do hope next vu will solve most of it, and that we then will be able to focus on other 'more fun' things after that :)

Ok, I found something I would LOVE to see working: Event Creation. We got 3 Event Areas, 1 with Mutant Worms to kill in it. Yet NO way to actually create the proper event for any of those areas. Just PVP Events. Poo---those are no fun.

I'd like to see regular events available. Maybe a place in the 3 spots that has decent critters, and then the one that has the lower worms too.

Having to zip all the way to Zyn'torga just to find out I can only create a PVP event in a non-pvp area kind hurts the feet a little. The Race Track and The Foxhole are completely void of things to hunt.

Just saying - would love to create an event to attract people to the planet. Ok, a NORMAL event. Not a PVP one. :D

Focus on the economy ! As of now Cy has NO ECONOMY - unless u can call economy the 15 pages in AH :(

Spent few weeks on Cy skillin MF as I was bored of other planets ... is not a bad place and has potential :) ... one thing I can see is devs are skilled in game design but have no clue about RCE or economy concepts :(

No economy -> no interest -> see NI :p

What to be done ... my view :

    1. FIX MINING
Is unacceptable that some own planet resources used in low level component BPs are so rare that they hit 10k% MU (see Blue Crystals). This, together with the 90% lyst/oil distribution keeps resourcing and crafting low or non-existant. You could also change a bit the landscape at least to some areas to make it more miner friendly - deep narrow valleys and steep mountains are not exactly a miner's dream ;)

    2. FIX CRAFTING
Did over 2k clicks on local BPs with NO BP drop  something ain't right there ... plus, all the hunting loot needs a use, no body likes to TT most of his hunting loot simply cause there's no interest on the market. Also, u might wanna take a look at the eco of ur specific products - for example Dragonfly or Imperium Spec Lancer burn twice the fuel of Sleipnir or Quad, not to mention they're harder to control/handle for some reason ... now, except the looks or novelty who would like to craft/buy something like that ??!

    3. ADVERTISE the RIGHT WAY
In my view Cy is not equal to PVP (HUB). Is true that the HUB is a highlight of Cy, but the PVPers are - to my knowledge - a minority of EU. Once u fixed mining and crafting (as hunting seems pretty ok) hold some MINING/HUNTING/CRAFTING events with attractive prizes to let the EU community know about what Cy can offer. If I ask ppl today most will say Cy is that beta phase far from ready planet with a bug-full place where PVP addicts can kill each other all day long o_O ... and that ain't true.

Those would be the major steps to take imho ... rest, like mob lvl and hit rate adjustment are minor things that you can take care of in the long run, together with always required new content :)

On a funny note I'd say put one of the devs (or they can take turns at it) PLAY the game.... really PLAY it - maybe give him 200$ budget for a month and his salary should be whatever profit he can make out of the game - playing on Cy of course - in that month  ... When they do get any profit you'll now you're heading the right way :beerchug:

That's exactly what my original rant post (darn rollback) was about. Here's the truth and facts of what the Cyrene Development Team should be doing: (take it from a person who's been in here since they opened the doors for Beta and it was just a Project: Entropia)

    • Things we know as a player that are OUT of the Dev Team's Control:
      • Mining and Item Nerfing
        • Now we know that you can't FORCE M.A. to approve anything that will hinder their precious Calypso for power and income. Yet, it doesn't mean you can't realize that parameter listing from before and work with it.
      • Making the Home Company happy.
        • I believe at least 90% of the user base knows that the DEV TEAM is not the owning Company for this planet. As such - I can only hope that their is a liaison for that. Some things just can't be put into this game. It's not designed for it.
So, what could be the fix for all this missing loop hole knowledge? Just as Lucky above this post said, a person with knowledge.

Now, having been designing video games and programming, etc. since I could push a button; I know where that person should be:
One of the Highest Development Levels You Have in Your Structure.
Maybe not the tippy top, but damn close - why? Here's why:
Facts About Entropia Universe(EU) a Strong Long Term Player Should Already Know:
Calypso has been developed from literally a FLAT world to what it is today.
The EU Team has had a chance to learn what works, and what doesn't - BUT the skilled player knows it better.
Great extra graphics and layouts come nearly 4th in place of the development of a 'working' world in EU.
Players will go stand in giant packs in a dead, flat looking area if it had great resources or hunting. Try it-I dare ya!
Construction (Crafting) is the main force here in EU. Think not? Mine something or Hunt something for profit without those crafters in here. Can't be done.
EU is ran by 5-6 Top Users. Maybe just 4 now. Why? Because they bought all the land and resources that make you capable of making profits in this game without effort. These same top crafters are also setting prices for their items based on pricing from 1998. Level 13 Amps at $30 each? Sure, when no one knew where to get the mats. Not true today. So why's it the same? Because only they can make them? Maybe.
Some of the BEST items in the game no longer drop anywhere. Keeps us spending like Lemmings.
Now how can someone like me or any other long term player help?
    Here's one Example::topsecret:
Every planet has a HUB. A place users gather to interact with each other. What makes this place so good?
    1. Large area for people to stand around and trade channel sell.
    2. Low Graphical Intense. 100 players will push a limit by itself.
    3. A TP Point either center or darn close to that of the location.
    4. All TERMINALS available. So people can go to the AH and back in 1 motion.
    5. Sells Tables/Stalls/Stores within eyesight. Want a person to use that area? Place a Stall there, watch it get bought for mad money and filled with Planet useful stuff.
Now, ALL planets have one, except Cyrene. Why? No one in the designer team knew that it was a very useful thing to make people come to your planet. Arkadia has the Quarry - Calypso Twins - Rocktropia ND Club's Old Location. Won't include NI as it never even had a chance before it was aborted. Poor little thing.
That's just one of many things a skilled player knows about.
Now it is true - the dev team has made crafting nearly impossible here (too many items in low end Blueprints that require "Wow, I actually found one of those" items in groups that are impossible to reach.)
Example: Heavy Batteries. You need 100 of an item that is barely dropped at all to try ONCE. Knowing at 100% efficiency the best a user can hope for is a 80% chance of success. This means users who DO get 100, won't get lucky enough to craft even 1 of these items - without blind luck. Then let's put that 1 item in a different BP that needs groups of 4-5. You're talking about an exponential number of Power Sources that need to be found that is off the chart!
Now for the Users On Cyrene::whip:
Mining - if you use your OLD Mining Technique here on Cyrene: You're going to get Lyst and Oil for your filters like mad. Learn the new mining ways here. - Not Dev Teams Fault other than these locations are very "Small with long respawn times".
Hunting - This is a hard one to place, but I am going to lean with the Users here. Too many critters of the following: This is a waste or GOOD LORD IT KILLED ME BY LOOKING AT ME! There's no real 'structure' to the critters yet. Yes, yes. We all know that the Level of a creature actually has no merit on it's nastiness. Which brings up Armor and Weapons: Wow. Just Wow dev team. Here the lack of an experienced player shines brightest. All armor you have is useless on Cyrene as is 90% of the weapon systems made for it. If you don't know which these are, pick up ANY of them. 'nuf said.
Crafting - Yeah - no corner stone block made here: whole economy on the planet dies. Seriously, this profession is the ONLY driving force in this game. You must have them in 1st thought for everything. Make these guys run or become poor, and you're planet will wither and die. I can't even put any blame on the crafters here.
    So to wrap up:
Dev Team, please hire, find, steal or kidnap an experienced player who plays this game and understand development needs and prefixes. Place him/her as the assistant to the Designer and listen intently. This person should be able to answer ANY question. If they can not: they've not played long enough or paid any attention to the game. This is NOT A GAME, it is a way of life in here. PLAY it, and just like in LIFE - you will eventually run out of money and luck and start bitching about how it owes you a living.
Thank you for hanging in there to this rant of info, that seems to have started to ebb in and out of flow.
Please direct all Hate, Flame and Evil Comments and Emails to: Master Chief. Thank You.
    - Goldmoon

I agree on most points of Goldmoon but this one appealed to me most as hunting is my main profession. Aside from the fact that I prefer to *cater the market* as a hunter, I do have some difficulties finding a good "hunting ryhtm". Either the mob is too easy or they just kill me on sight (higher level bots, rhino beetle). Now I know it's too easy to blame the dev team. It might be very well that I'm used to a certain type of hunting, developed on other planets and I just need to adapt to the Cyrene ways of local fauna and bot occupiers. It also might have to do with the fact that I'm used to a certain hunting set-up and it's just not working here. But I cant help having the feeling that here is some imbalance in the variety of mobs.

Here some issues I find 'not so nice':

    * small spawns...I can't help it but having to wait a long time for respawning after clearing out an area is just not fun. Besides, Im one of those who believe (!) in the old spawn theory for decent loot so I'm not a fan of hunting fresh spawns.
    * mobs located apart al lot off distance from each other. That's very personal but I hate to run when hunting to find a new mob. I have a tagger to pull the mobs I want to finish working down the maturity level to clear an area.
    * mobs respawning at almost exactly the same place where I killed the old one. Hunting already can be boring when it's a grind fest (which I'm not really a fan of anyway) but this makes it even more boring.
    * night time: I don't mind the dark...but give us a tool like a night watcher to deal with it. Cyrene nights are by far the darkest I know. It depends a lot on what graphics card one use (I have a GTX660 OCed, so running in high/very high, the level of shader does make a big difference here), for medium settings it's basicly pitch black. I played Crysis which uses the CE2 and night goggles are standard and necessary equipment here.

A heads up though on something which I DO like:

    * mob locations makes sense on several places: type mob related to type of area. E.g.: Local fauna in the wild, bots in the Naval Bases.

    Regards, Roni

Been playing here for a while now, the things that i miss are:
    • bigger dps weapons drops (from hunting, not sure about crafting opportunities, but doesn't look like there are a lot of higher dps weapon bleuprints out there).
    • Achievements (ok granted, they suck the way they are implemented in the total overview, but i still like to get some achievement once in a while.

    Cyrene should focus on COMMUNITY!

    It needs some work.

Wonder if there's a way to have daily or repeatable missions, in which players "sign up" and once 12 people have signed up they are "summoned" into a team to run that mission/kill that boss mob? That would force teaming between strangers and add a bit of community love to the planet. :)

Combine: Wave spawns + avatars-in-this-area counter + global message

Say, wave starts every full hour; every 15, 10, 5, 0 min before event there's a script that looks if somebody's inside certain event area. If there is, it triggers a (planetwide) global message announcing the area and number of avatars.

Why use interfaces if u can make it more natural. ;)

Could be used even for events with ticket fee. After entering the area u get a prompt asking if u want to pay X peds. Event register works as well but those ppl who arrive in person 15 min before event will get a discount.

I would hope there are also hunting dailies for beginners. For most certainly not necessary here, but there are also quite a few new players here and for this the existing dailies are not feasible.

i am new to cyrene (arriving 4 days ago) and i have a few complaints/solutions (some will seem petty, but the smallest annoyance can deter peopel)

    - no guns- i was looking for a gun i could use to hunt zeladoth(for epic quest) and there are literally none. this could be due to people shipping them to caly or what have you, but this is an issue for the "normal" player

    (solution unknown)

    - nighttime - it literally gets so dark you cant see mobs. even when i turned gamma up on my screen i struggled to make out if what i was looking at was a bush or a mob

(solution: lighten up the dark a little (add a second moon if youre worried about a reason)

    - creatures dmg - this one is gonna be very vague since im trying to cover alot of critters. i have noticed that some of the creatures hit WAY to hard for their level some of this is form doing odd damage types some of it us just straight up to much damage. i dont want to go buy a special (L) armor just to hunt 1 mob

(solution: add armor that protects vs those odd types of damage)

-creatures HP - this one is another one i cant go into details alot on as i have not hunted every creature on the planet. but from what i have seen basically EVERYTHING has to many HP for an opalo+A101 damage (ok there a a couple) but there is no diversity on that level of play. once i stop up into L guns about level 5-10 suddenly theres all sorts of stuff to hunt but once my L gun breaks its back to calypso to buy another and i may or may not come back after i leave (solution: add a multi leveled (100/500/1k/5k ect) mission at the opalo level so when my "fancy" m3a breaks i have something else to hunt)

-lack of information - the information on what is where just isnt there. i spent 3 hours looking for the epic quest mission guy using wiki and this forum i finally had to ask someone ingame to find the guy, mob spawns on the wiki are off, some of the items ive seen are not even on the wiki.

(solution: this one is hard since yall aint allowed up add things to wiki, so my best solution is: yell at the community to stop slacking xD (kidding)) i will update what i can but i dont have the knowledge myself yet

also keep in mind while developing the planet what group you are targeting the most. you will get the Star's and the Stryker's to come visit but they wont make it their home.

now that i completely bashed your planet all to hell, i am going to state that i actually have enjoyed my time here on cyrene and plan to stay here a while.
