Healing for Decay?

I see this a lot in the in-game chats, but I have no idea how this works. Do you start with a full fap and then repair at the end and the other person pays you? Or do they give you their fap and you give it back at the end?

I am interested in doing this, but I'm a bit confused at the logistics. Also it seems like nobody would want this from somebody with 0 levels.

Can somebody please explain?

Either of the two methods you mentioned works.

If you are using your own fap, then at the start of the service either you show it to other player in trade window so he can check what TT it has or he can just scan you when you equip it. Then after you finish, you check what decay you have on it and the other player will pay it to you.

Be careful not to get scammed. There have been cases where hunters just don't pay the decay after the hunt.

If you are using client's fap, then you just give it back after the service is over. Note that you will most likely have to provide a collateral for the fap. Also be careful on this one.

Always check what is the item's real value and don't pay ridiculous amount as collateral.

Your skill level definitely will be the main factor whenever you will get hired. Rarely anyone is hired with low levels unless available 24/7 or someone just feels generous. The main idea of the service is to reduce defensive decay and it doesn't pay off to use healer on low damage creatures.
